PROMOTE BIODIVERSITY

As part of its commitment to protecting the environment and fighting climate change, Ruinart actively participates in the regeneration of forests and the preservation of biodiversity around the world

A PROJECT WITH REFOREST'ACTION

IN CHAMPAGNE

Ruinart has initiated an ambitious reforestation project. In collaboration with Reforest'Action, the Maison will plant nearly 25,000 trees and shrubs in its Taissy vineyard by 2022.

The aim is to regenerate the soil and to bring back the original fauna and flora to the parcel. This planting will provide habitats for fauna useful for growing vines (ladybugs, lacewings, birds, bats).

Reforest’Action is a forest specialist recognized for its expertise in the management and creation of forests as part of projects to promote biodiversity and fight climate change. Since its creation in 2010, more than 10 million trees have been planted.

OUR ACTIONS FOR BIODIVERSITY

IN THE WORLD

Alongside Reforest’Action, Ruinart has joined in 2020 the IMAGINE movement, which brings together worldwide actors to take action in the face of the current ecological emergency, by preserving and regenerating forests on a large scale.

This is one of the most accessible and efficient solutions we have today to restore entire ecosystems, preserve biodiversity and combat climate change, all while reducing our environmental footprint.

In 2020, Ruinart has started a collaboration with Conservation International to support reforestation efforts around the world. By contributing to the Protect an Acre program, Ruinart is helping to protect over 500,000 trees around the world.

Conservation International is leading the world’s largest tropical forest restoration, working directly with the communities who live in and depend on these forests. The charity has already helped protect more than 6 million square kilometers of lands and seas in more than 70 countries.

FORESTS ARE KEY

TO SUPPORTING LIFE ON EARTH

Forest regeneration and biodiversity enhancement are complementary and particularly effective in combating climate change and its consequences.

Did you know that forests the 1st carbon skins within landmasses, and 80% of biodiversity on earth is sheltered in forests?

1 tree planted is, on average*:

•   150 kg of CO2 over 30 years

•   4 months of oxygen generated

•    3 animal shelters created

*The carbon absorption and storage capacities of forests vary according to different factors (temperature, rainfall, stand, altitude, etc.).
